Day 1 - Brussels > Entebbe > Kampala
Today you board your flight towards an amazing African adventure. Your guide/driver welcomes you at Entebbe airport. Immediately you notice the aroma of the African continent that seems to rise from its soil. Deliciously different! The transfer to your lodge in Kampala takes about 1h15 and is followed by a full briefing of what you can expect during your trip.
Day 2 - Kampala > Lake Mburo (B-L-D)
Lake Mburo National Park is a 4 hour’s drive from Kampala. Here, your first exciting afternoon 'game drive' is scheduled. Prepare to see zebra and antelope, but what else will you spot? Your true adventure is starting now.
Day 3 - Lake Mburo > Lake Bunyonyi (B-L-D)
You start the day with a beautiful sunrise, a hearty breakfast and a morning walk around Lake Mburo. After lunch you exchange Lake Mburo for Lake Bunyoni, a 4 hour drive away.
Day 4 - Lake Bunyonyi > Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (B-L-D)
La journée débute avec un lever de soleil magnifique. Ensuite, vous faites une promenade en canoë sur le lac Bunyoni, idéal pour profiter du calme et de la nature autour du lac. Après le lunch à Bunyoni, vous continuez vers le parc national de Bwindi, la route offre des vues panoramiques exceptionnelles.
Day 5 - Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (B-L-D)
Today you will experience the absolute epitome of your trip as you go gorilla tracking! Rangers will keep your jungle exploration on the right track. Once you spot gorillas, you remain in their company for a whole hour. Bet you never felt time fly by as supersonically while you do not know where to look first! This is an encounter beyond words which is immortalised by a gorilla spotting certificate! Dinner is served at the Bwindi View Lodge. In the evening you doze off lulled by the sounds of the natural setting.
Mind you: the mountain gorillas move around freely and so the trekking can be intense (cf section 'Good to Know').
Day 6 - Bwindi Impenetrable National Park > Queen Elizabeth National Park South (B-D)
A 3 hour drive is all that separates you from Ishasha in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Lunch is served in the Enjojo lodge. Next a game drive in the Queen Elizabeth National Park is on your programme!
Day 7 - Queen Elizabeth National park South > Queen Elizabeth National park North (B-L-D)
During an early morning game drive in the Queen Elizabeth National Park the aim is to observe tree climbing lions. Are you the first to spot the pride? Lunch. This afternoon a boat trip on Lake Edward is on your programme: hippos and elephants guaranteed!
Day 8 - Queen Elizabeth National Park North > Fort Portal (B-L-D)
At dawn you head to Fort Portal, the setting of a beautiful crater walk. Expect breath-taking views and local children who accompany you with a smile. Want to take a dip in the lake? Done. Dinner is scheduled in Fort Portal.
Day 9 - Fort Portal > Kampala (B-D)
After a sumptuous breakfast your return to Kampala (5 hours) awaits where you enjoy a charming dinner at Lake Victoria.
Day 10 - Kampala
You visit the Kampala national museum of Uganda, the crafts Market and the Martyr's Shrine (a religious memorial site). You return to Entebbe airport where your return flight to Brussels awaits.
Day 11 - Brussels
All Belgian nationals travelling on a Belgian passport (children and babies included) must be in possession of an international e-passport (electronic) containing min. 2 blank pages, valid for at least 6 months upon departure from Uganda. An e-visa must be purchased via the website https://visas.immigration.go.ug/.

Tipping is important and customary in Africa as it forms an integral part of the wages. Some guidelines: Foresee €2/pers./day for your guide and driver. Restaurants usually expect a 10%-15% tip (if not automatically charged to your bill). In lodge you leave 5USD a day for the cleaning staff, and the bellman is happy with 1USD a suitcase. Adapt as you see
Uganda is a perfect year-round holiday destinations. The rainy seasons last from March till May with rain peaks in April which make roads impassable and trails used for Chimp tracking more slippery & from August to November with peaks in November. Mind you rainy season does not necessarily mean it will rain all day long. Often it indicated a heavy but short downpour of rain foloowed by sunshine and pleasant temperatures.

Age restriction: Only children 15 years of age and up are allowed to join on the gorilla trekking.
The trekking in search of the mountain gorillas has an adventurous character. Since the animals roam freely, you may expect that spotting the group of gorillas can take anywhere from an hour to half a day. A good physical condition, great stamina and endurance as well as adapted footwear are essential. The terrain can be difficult and slippery depending on the weather. The level of effort and degree of exertion varies from average to high. Please make sure you take this into account.
