Tbilisi - the capital of Georgia - is located in the valley of the hidden valley of the mighty Kura River. It is a mega-fascinating destination with a rich history, and exciting blend of cultures and an architecture which testifies to Byzantine, Eastern and European influences. Once the hub of many trade routes; today Tbilisi is a colorful city where the Middle East peacefully meets West.
In order for you to enjoy the best of Tbilisi we have added some extra values to this citytrip. For instance you will spend an evening in a Georgian family cooking traditional dishes and share the meal with them while the hoome-made vodka flows richly. And those who want will be able to go on a day's outing to the mythical city of Mtscheta and its Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, listed as UNESCO World Heritage. After this introduction, Tbilisi will no longer be unknown nor unloved!

Thanks to its location between sea and mountains and despite its small size Georgia offers several climate types. In the west, near the Black Seae, the climate is subtropical while towards the east it is more mediterranean. In eastern Georgia and especially in Tbilisi, the climate can be best described as continental. In summer, it's a bit warmer; and of course temperatures descend as altitude increases. Mind you the cold has a dry feel to it and not by far as humid as In Belgium.
Spring is undoubtedly the most pleasant season to visit Georgia. On the other hand, for mountain hikes, summer and early fall are preferable.
Average max. temperatures (°C):
- 3 nights accommodation with breakfast*
