Day 1 - Brussel > Tokyo

Appointment at Brussels Airport for the start of our Nippon experience

On day 2, upon arrival at Narita airport in Tokyo, you will be welcomed by your driver, ready for your transfer to the hotel in the heart of the capital. Tour guide Nicolas will only meet you tonight for a first introduction and detailed presentation of the programme. Allow about an hour for this. You can spend th erest of the evening at leisure. No doubt, Nicolas can recommend a nice restaurant for dinner.

Day 3 - Tokyo > Kawaguchiko (B-D)

After your breakfast, Nicolas awaits you at the hotel reception. Together you travel by train to Kawaguchiko, an area at the foot of Mount Fuji. This fairly laid back region often offers remarkable views of Japan's emblem of Japan, Fuji San. Your programme includes a walk to the famous Chureito Pagoda and along Lake Kawaguchiko, one of the five lakes in the region.

Your luggage is transferred directly to Kyoto, so plan a travel bag for the night in Kawaguchiko. It is usually cooler here than in Tokyo. You will stay at Fuji no Yado OHASHI, a traditional Japanese accommodation. Dinner is included.

Day 4 - Kawaguchiko > Kyoto (B)

This morning you board the Shinkansen and train to the old capital Kyoto, where you will stay for three days. After arrival, in the early afternoon the western region of the city is on your programme with its golden pavilion and the famous bamboo forest.

Day 5 - Kyoto (B)

This morning you will explore many sights of the eastern part of the city carefully selected from around 1000 temples and shrines. At the end of the afternoon you will look for geisha's in the charming Gion district, hoping to catch on eon picture. The late afternoon offers free time to stroll through the alleys of this traditional neighborhood on your own initiative and interest. Just like in Tokyo, Nicolas can make suggestions for a tasty and typical restaurant.

Day 6 - Kyoto > Nara > Kyoto (B)

Another old capital figures on today's programme: Nara; about 1 hour by train from Kyoto. You spend the day together with the Nara Deer, registered as Japan's national heritage, and discover the Todaiji Temple, the world's largest wooden construction. In the afternoon you will visit the back gardens of Nara, before returning to the station and Kyoto. Evening at leisure in Kyoto.

Day 7 - Kyoto > Hiroshima (B)

Today you leave for the following two Japanese cities on your route: Hiroshima and Miyajima. After a train journey of two and a half hours you reach Hiroshima where you visit the Genbaku dome where the 'A bomb' exploded and the Peace Museum. This afternoon you will travel to the island of Miyajima to admire the sunset. Overnight in Hiroshima.

Day 8 - Hiroshima > Koya San (B)

You travel to Mount Koya, a landmark on top of the nearby Osaka mountains. With the Shinkansen and various trains and cable cars you finally reach the top of Koya San, where you will discover the temples of Koya San and the accompanying monumental cemetery in the afternoon. At the end of the day you reach the temple where you spend the night and where you are invited to immerse yourself in Buddhist ceremonies, meditation, culinary culture and also the famous Japanese baths. This is a traditional accommodation with shared bathrooms and bathroom facilities.

Day 9 - Koya San > Osaka (B)

In the morning, those who care to, are invited to attend the monks' morning ceremonies in full meditation. Then you travel to Osaka where you will spend the afternoon and evening. Osaka is very well known for its culinary experiences. After a city visit you spend the evening in an Izakaya (tapas bar in typical Japanese style) and let yourself be enchanted by the lights of Dotonbori. To end the evening, you climb the Umeda tower to watch the city lights.

Day 10 - Osaka > Tokyo (B)

This morning you return by high-speed train (Bullet Train) to Tokyo. You reach the Japanese capital in the early afternoon and visit the famous Meiji-Jingu sanctuary. And where to round off this speedy day better than at the famous Shibuya Junction. The evening is free to enjoy Tokyo by night.

Day 11 - Tokyo (B)

Come together at your hotel's lobby in time for a discovery walk to the east of the city:  the fish market, Asakusa and the Akihabara electronic district. Evening at leisure.

Day 12 - Tokyo > Brussels (B)

Feast on that delicious hotel breakfast. Check out of your hotel and transfer to Narita airport. Check in for your flight and enjoy your trip and memories.and the in-flight service. This is all you need to do till you land at Zaventem, Brussels.
