HISTORIC CITY OF AYUTTHAYA
Ayutthaya dates back to 1350 and was the second Siamese capital. Sukhothai was the first. The city grew from the 14th to the 18th century into one of the largest, most cosmopolitan urban areas in the world and was a centre of global diplomacy and trade. Despite the fact that the city was destroyed in the 18th century, you can get an clear image of its former splendour.
HISTORIC TOWN OF SUKHOTHAI
Sukhothai was the capital of the first Kingdom of Siam in the 13th and 14th centuries. The great civilization which evolved in the Kingdom of Sukhothai absorbed numerous influences and ancient local traditions. The rapid assimilation of all these elements forged what is known as the 'Sukhothai style'. The entire area of Sukhothai is considered a masterpiece of this first Siamese architectural style.
DONG PHAYAYEN - KHAO YAI FOREST COMPLEX
The Dong Phayayen-Khao Yai Forest Complex spans 230 km and contains substantial and important tropical forest ecosystems, which can provide a viable habitat for the long-term survival of these species. The site is home to numerous species of fauna, mammals, bird, reptile and amphibians among them 19 vulnerable, 4 endangered & 1 critically endangered mammal, bird and reptile species.
