Hunting the mythical light.
There are many places and ways to spot Northern Lights in Finland, but in all of them there is a fair touch of luck involved. From a guided (snow) tour in search of the lights, to your own cosy house with a glass roof so you don't have to miss a moment. Plenty of opportunities to experience them.
In Finnish Lapland there is a very good chance that you will see the aurora borealis. During the winter months they appear more frequently so expect stunning pictures. Venture out to the Kakslauttanen igloos and enjoy this fantastic spectacle from the comfort of your very own glass-roofed igloo. Rovaniemi, the birthplace of Santa Claus, is also renowned for spotting Northern Lights. They are definitely no exception here. Our tip: Stay at least for about five nights. That is a good basis to increase your chances of witnessing this magical, natural phenomenon.
