The Story of Mystical Ruins
Machu Picchu is known as one of the 7 Wonders of The World. And that is spot on. We are happy to take you to the epitome of Inca civilization, to a city that will leave you gasping for air. And we mean, not just due to its located over 2,000 meters high. You will stand in awe during your visit!
Whether it was a religious centre or Pachacutec's summer residence, this mysterious place was erected with an incredible eye for detail. On top of that, all building materials had to be carried up the mountain using manpower, a feat at a time when the wheel had not yet been invented. The fact that the city was so remote and secretly hidden in nature, made it untraceable for conquerors such as the Spaniards. When the city was discovered in the 20th century (400 years after its demise), it was largely intact. Our tip: delve into the city’s history beforehand and you will be all the more impressed.
