Here you will not find large beach resorts, but wild beaches, turquoise lagoons and an environment that has remained largely untouched. The marine park protects coral reefs, mangroves and an impressive marine biodiversity, making the island an ideal destination for snorkeling and diving.

Respectful marine excursions
Activities on the island focus on discovering and protecting the marine ecosystem. Snorkeling trips in the marine park, dives on well preserved coral reefs and seasonal excursions to observe whale sharks are organised with a strong respect for nature. At certain times of the year, it is also possible to witness the hatching of sea turtles.

Travellers with Belgian nationality, including babies and children, need a digitally readable passport with at least 2 blank pages, valid for at least 6 months after your return date. We recommend applying online in advance for an e-visa via https://visa.immigration.go.tz. You can also obtain a Visa on Arrival upon arrival in Tanzania, issued by the airport authorities (immigration), but please expect a procedure that may take around 2 hours. Travellers with a non-Belgian nationality and / or travellers travelling on a foreign passport are invited to spontaneously report this matter to the Connections travel consultant and shall contact their respective embassy (s) or Consulate (ate) to obtain the latest updates concerning all current travel requirements and documents.
