In the footsteps of the pharaohs, from Giza to the banks of the Nile, between temples, museums and gentle days on the water
Egypt begins with a sense of vertigo. The pyramids rising from the desert, the immense halls where Tutankhamun’s gold still glitters, and then the Nile, setting a different pace, slower and softer, almost hypnotic. In 8 days, you connect Cairo with a cruise between Luxor and Aswan, with an Egyptologist to bring the stories, symbols and legends to life.
You experience Egypt at its grandest on the Giza Plateau, before continuing to the spectacular, modern Grand Egyptian Museum, where pharaonic masterpieces take on a new dimension. Then it’s on to Luxor and boarding your ship, like an instant change of scenery. Karnak and Luxor set the tone, then the West Bank reveals the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. As you sail, Edfu impresses with its remarkable preservation, Kom Ombo intrigues with its double temple, and Aswan soothes with Philae and a felucca ride around the islands. And if you want an even more breathtaking finale, Abu Simbel can be added as an option.

Cairo: the pyramids, the Sphinx and the Grand Egyptian Museum
The city fades, the desert opens, and the pyramids take over the horizon. The Sphinx completes the scene, still and steeped in myth. Then you shift scale at the Grand Egyptian Museum, where monumental statues, bright galleries and pharaonic treasures tell millennia of history, with Tutankhamun as the defining highlight.
Luxor, sacred temples and invisible kingdoms
Karnak feels like a city built for the gods, with gigantic columns and endless perspectives. The Temple of Luxor, more intimate, reveals itself as a stone stage in the heart of the city. On the West Bank, the Valley of the Kings and the Temple of Hatshepsut plunge you into the fascinating world of the afterlife and the pharaohs.
The Nile at the rhythm of the riverbanks, from Edfu to Aswan
Between visits, you let the river guide the day. Edfu astonishes with its perfection, Kom Ombo surprises with its double dedication and waterside setting, and Aswan invites you to slow down, with the Temple of Philae and a felucca sail around the islands, when the light turns almost unreal.

A visa is not required for a tourist stay of up to 15 days, in the jurisdictions of Sharm El Sheikh, Nuweiba, Dahab or Taba and if you are staying in the Sinai resorts. If you travel from here to other parts of Egypt, a visa is required.
For stays of up to 30 days, a visa is required. To obtain your visa (minimum 7 days before departure) go to the Egypt e-Visa Portal. Take your visa printout with you.
