Best time to travel to Kenya
Timing is essential for an optimal safari experience in Kenya. The best time to visit Kenya is generally between June and October and from December to March. During these dry months, animals gather around water sources, significantly increasing your chances of spectacular wildlife sightings.
The famous Great Migration of wildebeest and zebras through the Masai Mara takes place from July to October. If you wish to witness this natural spectacle, it is recommended to book your safari well in advance.
The rainy season also has its charm, offering lower prices, lush green landscapes and fewer tourists — ideal for birdwatchers and photographers who want to capture dramatic skies.
The most beautiful national parks in Kenya
Kenya is world-renowned for its impressive national parks where wildlife thrives. The Masai Mara is the crown jewel, with vast savannahs home to lions, elephants and the annual wildebeest migration.
Amboseli National Park offers breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro, with large herds of elephants roaming the plains.
Lake Nakuru surprises visitors with its flamingos and rare tree-climbing lions. Tsavo East and West, together one of the largest wildlife parks in the world, offer rugged wilderness and the chance to spot the famous red elephants.
Each park has its own unique ecosystem and provides different opportunities to observe the Big Five and other iconic African species in their natural habitat.
Combine safari with a beach stay in Kenya
After an intense safari through Kenya’s wildlife parks, a relaxing beach stay is the perfect way to end your journey. Kenya’s coastline boasts stunning white-sand beaches and crystal-clear waters.
Diani Beach, south of Mombasa, is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Africa, with palm trees, coral reefs and excellent resorts. Here you can enjoy snorkeling or diving among colorful fish and corals.
Authentic coastal towns blend African and Arab influences in both architecture and cuisine. It is easy to combine a safari in Kenya’s famous national parks with a few days at the coast, creating the perfect balance between adventure and relaxation.
Individual tours versus group tours in Kenya
When planning your Kenyan adventure, you can choose between an individual round trip or a group tour.
An individual tour offers maximum flexibility in pace and itinerary. With a private driver-guide, you decide how long to stay with certain animals or when to depart. This option is ideal for photographers or families with children.
Group tours, on the other hand, provide social interaction and are often more budget-friendly due to shared costs. Safari vehicles are shared with fellow travelers, making the experience both affordable and enjoyable. Our group tours are led by experienced English-speaking guides who take you to the best wildlife-viewing spots and share their knowledge of local nature and culture.
Things to see in Kenya beyond safari
In addition to its world-famous safaris, Kenya has much more to offer curious travelers. Visit Nairobi, the vibrant capital where tradition meets modern African culture.
The Nairobi National Museum offers fascinating insights into the country’s rich history and diverse cultures. Meet Maasai communities and learn about their traditional way of life during a cultural village visit.
Admire the dramatic landscapes of the Great Rift Valley, with its lakes and volcanoes, including Mount Longonot. Nature lovers will also enjoy boat trips on Lake Naivasha, a true paradise for birdwatchers.
These attractions enrich your round trip and provide a more complete picture of the real Kenya.
