From mythical pyramids and colonial cities to flamingos, cenotes and Caribbean beaches: Mexico enchants you day after day
This 13-day Mexico tour blends iconic culture, breathtaking nature and relaxation. Start in Mexico City on the Zocalo, past the Catedral Metropolitana and the remains of Templo Mayor. Visit the Basilica of Guadalupe and walk the Avenue of the Dead in Teotihuacan, lined with the pyramids of the Sun and the Moon. Continue to Merida, the “Ciudad Blanca”, gateway to the Puuc route with Uxmal and Kabah. In the Celestun Biosphere Reserve, glide by boat through mangroves and flocks of American flamingos.
Across Yucatan awaits Chichen Itza, with El Castillo (Kukulcan), the Temple of the Warriors and the Juego de Pelota. End with a swim stop in a cenote. The final days let you unwind in the Riviera Maya: white beaches, turquoise sea and all-inclusive comfort near Playa del Carmen and Tulum. Mexico in one word? Magical.

Highlights of this tour

Mexico City, Guadalupe & Teotihuacan:
from capital to origin myth
Explore Mexico City: the Zocalo, Catedral Metropolitana, Palacio Nacional (exterior) and the ruins of Templo Mayor. On the Plaza de las Tres Culturas, pre-Hispanic, colonial and modern eras converge. Visit the shrine of Guadalupe and continue to Teotihuacan with the Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon, the Citadel and the Temple of Quetzalcoatl, plus a stop for an obsidian/textile demonstration and tequila/mezcal tasting.

Yucatan Essentials: Uxmal, Kabah & flamingos in Celestun
The Puuc style shines in Uxmal: the Pyramid of the Magician, the Nunnery Quadrangle, the House of Turtles and the Governor’s Palace. In Kabah, discover the emblematic Maya arch, the Gran Pirámide and the Palacio. In Celestun, a boat ride takes you through a biosphere reserve of mangroves and lagoons teeming with American flamingos.

Chichen Itza, cenote and
relaxation in the Riviera Maya
Experience Chichen Itza, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with El Castillo (Kukulcan), the Temple of the Warriors and the monumental ball court. Then cool off in a cenote: crystal clear, mystical and unforgettable. The journey ends on the Riviera Maya (all-inclusive): Playa del Carmen, Tulum, snorkeling, beach walks and sultry evenings, the perfect balance of culture and coast.

Time zones
Mexico has three time zones:
Mexico City: GMT -6
La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico : GMT -7
Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico : GMT -8
Climate
Mexico is a vast country and therefore has three climate zones that are simply referred to as hot, temperate and cold. The surrounding ocean and mountains largely determine the ambient temperatures. Simplified the climate zones are referred to as: from sea level to 800 m: hot and humid; between 800 m and 1600 m: moderate & above 1600 m cold with drastic temperature differences between day and night.
Moreover 2 seasons can be distinguished: dry from December to April, rain from May to November, although you can expect a tropical downpour in the dry season and vice versa the rainy season can turn out very dry. Just like in the US, most tropical storms migrate across the country during autumn.
