Travel Documents
All Belgian nationals travelling on a Belgian passport (children and babies included) must be in possession of an international e-passport (electronic) containing min. 2 blank pages, valid for at least 1 day after their return home. All travellers to Canada must purchase an eTA or electronic Travel Authorisation online via the official website cic.gc.ca/english/visit/index.asp prior to entering Canadian territory via its airports. Price: 7 CAD or +/- 5 Euros. Your eTA is valid for 5 years and linked to your passport number. This implies that as soon as your passport expires, so does your eTA.
To save time at Customs and Immigration in Canada, you can download the CanBorder eDeclaration app before your arrival. You will then receive a QR-code that remains valid for 24 hours. Thanks to the scanning of the QR code, you do not have to re-enter your data on the screen at the Customs counters. You can download via the Apple Store app or Google Play app.
Please note: A credit card is required upon check-in at the hotels and also when renting a car. All cross-border travellers with the USA must on top be in possession of an international passport and an ESTA. The digital passport must be valid for at least 6 months after the set date of your return flight. The electronic travel authorization must be purchased online by means of a personal credit card via the official link https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta/ (14 USD on 20JAN2015). Your ESTA is valid for max. 2 years. Should your international passport expire within that period, so does your ESTA as it is linked to your passport number. We strongly recommend you to print out the Esta- or Eta permit and to have it on you while you travel to avoid problems.
Travellers with a non-Belgian nationality and / or travellers travelling on a foreign passport are invited to spontaneously report this matter to the Connections travel consultant and shall contact their respective embassy (s) or Consulate (ate) to obtain the latest updates concerning all current travel requirements and documents.

Discovering the Wilderness of Alaska and Yukon
The raw beauty of Alaska and Yukon is best experienced from the saddle of a motorcycle. These northern regions offer a unique mix of breathtaking vistas, untouched wilderness, and adventurous roads that challenge you to venture deeper into nature. During your journey, you will ride through some of the most remote areas of North America, where nature still reigns supreme. From snow-capped peaks to wide valleys, you’ll discover landscapes that few people will ever witness in their lifetime. This untamed wilderness also offers countless opportunities to spot wildlife, including grizzly bears, caribou, and moose in their natural habitat.
The Historic Klondike Gold Route
Your motorcycle journey follows parts of the legendary routes taken by gold seekers during the famous Klondike Gold Rush of 1898. As you ride into Dawson City, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time. This former gold rush town still breathes the spirit of the Wild West, with its wooden buildings, saloons, and the renowned Diamond Tooth Gertie’s Gambling Hall. At the Dawson City Museum, you can immerse yourself in this fascinating chapter of Yukon history. The Top of the World Highway offers a spectacular ride with panoramic views over the endless Yukon wilderness, taking you literally “over the roof of the world” toward the border with Alaska. The connection between past and present is tangible all along this historic route.
National Parks and Natural Wonders
This motorcycle tour takes you through some of North America’s most impressive national parks. Denali National Park, home to the tallest mountain in North America, showcases pristine wilderness where you may spot grizzly bears, wolves, and Dall sheep. Kluane National Park in Yukon offers spectacular landscapes with massive glaciers, alpine meadows, and crystal-clear lakes. The Matanuska Valley, with its striking views of glaciers slowly carving their way through the valley, is another highlight. Experiencing these wonders of nature from your motorcycle, with the freedom to stop and soak in the silence and majesty, makes this journey truly unforgettable.
Practical Tips for Riding in Alaska and Yukon
Riding in Alaska and Yukon requires some preparation and experience. The mix of paved and unpaved roads demands careful riding and adaptability, especially after rain when gravel roads can become slippery. Warm and waterproof clothing is essential, as the weather can change rapidly—even in summer. A good pair of sunglasses will help against the intense light reflecting from snow and water. Distances between towns and gas stations can be considerable, so plan your routes carefully and always keep your tank topped up. The best travel period is from June to September, when days are long, and temperatures are pleasant—perfect for extended rides through this breathtaking landscape.
